Justice Markandey Katju boldly claims that 90% of Indians are fools. In this eye-opening analysis, he explains the deep-rooted divisions based on caste, religion, and regionalism that hinder India's progress. Discover why unity is the only way forward.
Why I call 90% Indians as fools
By Justice Markandey KatjuI have often called 90% Indians ( in which term I include Pakistanis and Bangladeshis, for we are really one nation, only artificially and temporarily divided) as fools, and I wish to explain why.
Most Indians regard Pakistanis as their enemies, and most Pakistanis regard Indians as their enemies, although both are largely poor people. How can poor people be each other's enemies ?
A large number of Hindus in India regard Indian Muslims as their enemies, and as fanatics, terrorists, and anti-national
A large number of Muslims in India regard Hindus as their enemies, and as oppressors who have lynched many Muslims for allegedly eating or selling beef, beaten many Muslims mercilessly for not saying Jai Shri Ram, imprisoned many for long periods on false charges ( e.g Umar Khalid) etc
Many people of a particular caste regard people of other castes as their enemies, e.g. many Kammas in Andhra Pradesh regard Reddys as their enemies and vice versa, many Lingayats in Karnataka regard Vokkaligas as their enemies, and vice versa, many Yadavs in UP regard Kurmis as their enemies ( though both castes are OBCs ), and vice versa, dalits regard upper castes as enemies, being oppressors, etc
Many South Indians regard North Indians as enemies, who are always trying to impose Hindi on them.
Many Hindus in Assam regard many Muslims in the state as enemies, being 'ghuspethias' ( infiltrators ), though they have been living there for several decades ( many for over half a century).
In the small state of Manipur,.Hindu Meiteis ( who comprise half the population of the state) and Christian Kukis ( who comprise 16% of the population ) regard each other as enemies, and have recently committed terrible acts of violence against each other.
In Kashmir in the 1990s a large section of the 95% Muslim majority population regarded the 5% Hindus as enemies and committed horrible atrocities on them, and houndied them out of Kashmir
Gone with the icy wind: Four reasons why Kashmiri Pandits will never return to Kashmir
All this shows the foolishness of 90% Indians, who will never progress, and will continue to have massive poverty and unemployment, appalling level of child malnutrition ( every second child in India is malnourished, according to Global Hunger Index ), skyrocketing prices of food, fuel, medicines, etc, almost total lack of proper healthcare and good education, etc unless they realise their mistake that those they perceive as their enemies are not their real enemies.

The Shocking Truth: Why Developed Countries Want India to Stay Poor – Justice Katju
'Hang netas,' says Justice Markandey Katju; 'you're the idiot,' says BJP minister
These evils can only be abolished if we unite together, rising above caste, religion, language and race, to launch a mighty united protracted people's struggle, culminating in a historical people's revolution, led by patriotic modern minded leaders determined to set up a political and social order in which the standard of living of all our people rapidly rises, and they start enjoying decent lives.
Indians Must Unite
Indians, unite
Even Indians and Pakistanis must unite, for we are really one nation, artificially divided by a British swindle in 1947 on the basis of the bogus two-nation theory. We are both largely poor, so how can poor people be each other's enemies?
Indian reunification is an idea whose time has come
